My name is Nishant Sharma, and I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember. Breed never mattered to me — a wagging tail and kind eyes were enough. In 2014, a little stray puppy was born outside my home. I named him Scooby. It took me 2.5 years of persistence and countless conversations with my family, but eventually, I adopted him. He was my first rescued family member, and he changed my life.

On 25th December 2021, I found a tiny puppy left abandoned on the road — barely 15 days old, shivering and helpless. I couldn't walk away. I brought him home, and once again, I felt the joy and heartbreak of rescue — the joy of saving one life, and the pain of knowing so many others were still suffering.

That pain became purpose.

On 2nd May 2022, I founded Doscowelfare — a heartfelt mission to improve the lives of stray dogs across India. We believe in long-term, sustainable solutions — from feeding and medical support to sterilization, education, and community awareness.

But it’s more than rescue work — it’s about changing the narrative.
Stray dogs are too often misunderstood or feared. I believe people fear what they don’t understand — and I want to bridge that gap. Through education about dog behavior and body language, we hope to replace fear with empathy, and ignorance with compassion.

We do not believe in comparison or conditions. Whether a dog is young or old, healthy or injured, Indie or any other breed — every life has value. Just as dogs love us unconditionally and without bias, we strive to offer them the same kind of love: selfless and whole.

Stray dogs — especially Indies — are often feared or misunderstood. But we believe fear stems from a lack of understanding. Through education about dog behavior and body language, we replace fear with awareness, and build compassion in its place.
